Project Prom Colorado does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin/ancestry, disability, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation or military status – if you qualify for our services then you are welcome here. Project Prom, however, cannot guarantee that it will have the exact dress or other clothing item that you want.

If you have a disability and need special accommodations please contact Project Prom prior to your appointment. We are happy to discuss the accommodations you are requesting and work with you to determine if we can reasonably meet them.  If you have a disability and require accommodations but do not notify Project Prom in advance of your appointment, we cannot guarantee the ability to reasonably accommodate you without advance notice.

student shoppers

To qualify for Project Prom’s services, you must be a current high school student in Thompson School District.

You must bring your current student ID with you at the time of your appointment.  If you are homeschooled and do not have a traditional student ID you must bring proof that you are currently enrolled in a high school level homeschooling program.

If you are unsure if you qualify or have any questions please reach out via

e-mail.  We’re happy to help!

  • You must bring your current student ID with you.

  • Teens may select one dress, or other clothing item, as well as accessories.  The items you select are yours to keep; you do not have to return them after the dance.

  • Teens must make an appointment, in advance, and arrive on time.

  • There is a limited number of appointment dates and times so it is important that you plan ahead and schedule your appointment early.  If Project Prom has cancellations and can fit you in on late notice we will do our best to accommodate you.  However, if Project Prom is booked with scheduled appointments we reserve the right to state that we cannot fit you in or assist you.

  • If you must cancel, please do so at least 48 hours in advance, this is important so that we can assist the other teens who are on the waiting list.

  • You will be given one hour to shop for a dress or other clothing item at the store.  Plan to spend 60-90 minutes at Project Prom to ensure you have enough time.

  • Please arrive five minutes early to fill out the student information form.

  • Please note that our dress availability fluctuates by style and size. We cannot guarantee that we’ll have a particular dress for you.
  • We do not offer alterations.  Unless you have someone who can help you alter a dress, we may suggest you keep shopping for a dress that is ready to wear without necessary alterations.

  • If possible, bring or wear a strapless bra or the undergarments you may wear to the dance so we can work on getting a proper fit.

  • You will be paired with a personal shopper to help you select your dress or other clothing item.

  • Please only bring ONE friend or family member with you to your appointment. Space is limited and Covid-19 restrictions are in place.

  • We respect the privacy and needs of you and all of our other guests. We ask that you do the same. All of Project Prom’s guests are expected to abide by the Golden Rule and practice kindness to our staff, other teenagers, and their families.

  • Project Prom is run by volunteers and does not have any full-time staff. There are days when we run behind schedule, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.  You may have to wait past your appointment time to be seen.  Our volunteers sincerely appreciate your patience and courteousness if you have to wait.

  • We strive to create an environment of inclusion where all of our volunteer and guests feel comfortable and safe.  Disruptive, rude, or disrespectful behavior is not acceptable should be reported to a Project Prom volunteer.
